One sees gelatinous liquids, shimmering through, reflecting, reflecting, unstable - spreading on coloured surfaces with fragments of non-interpretable characters. The challenge lies in the superficial representation of a three-dimensional, translucent object, to determine the boundaries of shadows and light reflexes and to depict the reflecting smooth surfaces with matt oil paint.
